About Us

To empower diverse communities across New Zealand by providing accessible, culturally responsive health advocacy, education, and support services that improve health outcomes and strengthen community resilience.

A New Zealand where every person, regardless of their background or circumstances, has equitable access to quality healthcare and the support they need to thrive in healthy, connected communities.

Our Story

Founded in 2020, Muskaan Care Trust emerged from a recognition that many families in New Zealand’s diverse communities faced significant barriers in accessing and navigating healthcare services.

Our name “Muskaan” means “smile” in Hindi, representing our fundamental belief that healthcare should bring hope, dignity, and positive outcomes to every person we serve. We started with a simple but powerful vision: to bridge the gaps between communities and healthcare systems.

What began as grassroots advocacy work in Auckland has grown into a comprehensive organization serving families across New Zealand. We’ve maintained our community-centered approach while expanding our reach and impact through evidence-based programs and strategic partnerships.

Today, we’re proud to be recognized as a leading voice in community health advocacy, known for our culturally responsive approach and commitment to addressing health equity issues that affect diverse communities throughout the country.

About Muskaan Care Trust

Muskaan Care Trust NZ, established in 2016, is committed to the belief that all lives hold equal value and to the ethos of Leaving No One Behind. We empower people facing life setbacks — including those with disabilities, health or mental health challenges, women, new migrants and former refugees, individuals out of work or education, and ex-offenders seeking reintegration. Acting as a bridge, we connect high-needs communities with wider society, government, and essential health and social services.

Guided by humility, equality, and inclusivity, we work to improve the quality of life for every New Zealander by advancing education, culture, social welfare, health, wellbeing, and human rights. Our aim is to help build strong, healthy, and connected communities across Aotearoa.

We focus on identifying and funding impactful solutions to reduce social and health inequities. Through collaboration and partnerships, we support innovative initiatives, expand effective programs, and extend help to those most in need — enabling everyone to live healthy, meaningful, and forward-moving lives.
