Our commitment

Muskaan Care Trust serves people facing disadvantage, including people living with disability and chronic illness. Accessibility isn't optional for us, it's part of our mission.

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA across this website, and to go beyond it where we can.

What we've done

• Semantic HTML for screen reader users
• Skip-to-content links and keyboard navigation throughout
• Sufficient colour contrast across all text
• Alt text on all meaningful images
• Captions for video content
• Forms with clear labels and error messages
• Reduced-motion support, animations honour prefers-reduced-motion
• Resizable text up to 200% without breaking layout
• Plain-language explanations alongside medical terminology

Multilingual support

Key resources are available in:

• Te reo Māori (in progress)
• Hindi, Urdu
• Samoan, Tongan
• Mandarin Chinese

This site is designed to meet:

• WCAG 2.1 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines)
• NZ Government Web Accessibility Standard
• Human Rights Act 1993 obligations

We work with a contracted accessibility auditor annually and apply WCAG-AAA where practical.
